THE 300-HOUR HOT YOGA TEACHER TRAINING STARTS JAN 15, 2018

The CNY 300-HOUR HOT FLOW/HOTYOGA TEACHER TRAINING IS HERE! This training will go deeper on all levels. We will be including more on the 5 categories of asana, building yoga flow sequences, and incorporating the Eight Limbs of Yoga into your teaching.

Ann will be helping the trainees on many levels to develop their own unique teaching style and class from a basic hot flow to a more advanced level class which encompasses much more than just asana. Kathy will be focusing more on meditation and exploring a much more detailed view of the bodily systems, chakras,  some basics of kundalini yoga.

This 300 hour teacher training will be all inclusive and will build your confidence as a teacher. It will be all-inclusive and life-changing on every level both on and off the mat.

Pre-requisite for the 300-hour- You must be a registered 200-hour teacher with Yoga Alliance and have taught a minimum of 100 hours. When you complete this training you will be eligible to register as a RYT-500 with Yoga Alliance.

Kathy Yocum-licensed acupuncturist in NYC is leading this training with Ann. Her experience of the body , mind and spirit is extensive.

Colts Neck Yoga is most proud to present their 200 Hour Hot Yoga Teacher Training led by E-RYT 500 Owner/Director of Colts Neck Yoga. Our studio is a registered 200 Hour training school with the Yoga Alliance.  Ann does both private and semi=private teacher trainings throughout the year.

The trainees will learn how to teach the beginning, intermediate and advanced yoga student with skill and confidence. We will be focusing on the importance of breath and how it protects the body throughout the hot yoga practice. How to teach each asana, demonstrate it, know the modifications and the physical, emotional and spiritual benefits of each pose. It is a total commitment for all the teacher trainees. Even, if you are taking it to deepen and enhance your yoga practice  it is still a very valuable training.   

The teachers in training will be working with licensed acupuncturist and former massage therapist   Kathleen Yocum. She will explain how the energy systems and chakras in the body work on a mind, body and spirit level. Kathleen will be discussing the physiological and anatomical aspects of how the chakras and the breath affect the body throughout the hot yoga practice. Also, meditation and the importance of quieting the mind before, during and after the yoga practice.

This training will encourage self-examination and observance of each trainee’s yoga practice and specifically how   it affected their individual lives on a mind, body spirit level.  Reading and discussing the basic concepts of Hatha yoga, the Eight Limbs of yoga, chakras and the healing aspects of the breath.

  If there are any changes to the schedule or additional hours needed   Ann will set up with the individuals attending each hot yoga training.

Guest teachers-speakers will be announced

Prerequisite for applicants is a minimum of two years of a consistent hot yoga practice. Recommended are two or more years of hot yoga and a strong practice. If you have never practiced with Ann at Colts Neck Yoga you will need a letter of recommendation from the hot yoga studio you attend.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

      HOT YOGA- THIS INVIGORATING CLASS IS  DESIGNED TO GIVE YOU A COMPLETE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT DETOXIFICATION AND REJUVENATION. A VERY THOROUGH ASANA PRACTICE WHICH INCLUDES PRANAYAMA, SUN SALUTATIONS, BALANCING POSES, A FEW INVERSIONS, AND A COMPLETE FLOOR SERIES WHICH INCLUDES SPINE STRENGTHENING POSTURES, STRETCHING AND BREATHING. THIS CLASS IS ALSO DONE IN 70-75 MINS

BEGINNER HOT YOGA FORM CLASS-THE BEGINNER CLASS  FOCUSES ON THE FORM AND SLOWLY INTRODUCES THE HOT YOGA SERIES TO NEWER STUDENTS. THIS CLASS ALSO BENEFITS STUDENTS WITH MORE EXPERIENCE BECAUSE OF THE ATTENTION TO THE DETAIL OF EACH AND EVERY ASANA.  MILD ADJUSTMENTS ARE GIVEN TO HELP STUDENTS WITH THEIR FORM.THE ROOM WILL BE VERY MODERATELY HEATED.

 HOUR OF POWER- A 60 MIN HOT YOGA CLASS WHICH INCLUDES ALL THE POSES FROM THE HOT YOGA SERIES AND IS DONE TO MUSIC. LIMITED DIALOGUE. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR TOTAL BEGINNERS.

HOT EXPRESS- A 60 MIN HOT YOGA CLASS WITH ALL THE POSES DONE WITH DIALOGUE. GOOD FOR BEGINNERS SINCE IT'S ONLY ONE HOUR.

HOT FLOW- THIS 60-75 MIN CLASS IS A POWERFUL VINYASA FLOW CLASS WITH MANY SUN SALUTATIONS, TWISTS, BINDS, BALANCES AND INVERSION. POSES VARY EACH TIME. MODERATE HEAT ONLY.

HIP-CORE HOT FLOW CLASS- A 60 MINUTE VINYASA FLOW CLASS WITH LOTS OF POSES THAT OPEN, STRETCH AND STRENGHTHEN YOUR HIPS. THIS CLASS WILL USE OPPOSITION STRETCHING AND ISOLATIONS TO OPEN THE HIPS, STRENGTHEN THE CORE AND TONE THE ENTIRE BODY.

CNY HOT BARRE EXPRESS- A 45 MINUTE CLASS- THIS BARRE CLASS IS FAST, FUN, AND WILL WORK YOUR WHOLE BODY FROM HEAD TO TOE. USING A BARRE IS SUCH A GREAT TOOL FOR TONING ABS, GLUTES AND THIGHS.  WE WILL USE FREE WEIGHTS TO BUILD ARM STRENGTH AS WELL AS INCORPORATING PUSH UPS AND PLANKS TO TONE THE CORE.

 HOT FLOW- THIS 60 MIN CLASS IS DONE WITH LITTLE OR NO HEAT. THE ASANA PRACTICE ADDS TWISTS, BINDS, INVERSIONS AND A VINYASA POWER FLOW. IT VARIES DEPENDING ON THE INSTRUCTOR. FOR ALL LEVELS

HOT JAZZ- A FUN DANCE CLASS FOR ALL LEVELS WITH A JAZZ-WARM-UP INCLUDED ISOLATIONS, STRETCHING AND SOME FUN DANCE MOVES DONE TO MUSIC TO GET A FUN TOTAL BODY WORK-OUT- SEASONAL CLASS

 BALLET BARRE- A 60 MINUTE COMBO CLASS OF YOGA, PILATES AND BALLET-BARRE WORKING ON CORE, HIP OPENERS, BALANCE, STRENGTHENING AND LENGTHENING THE MUSCLES WHILE THE BASICS OF BALLET ARE INTRODUCED.

BALLET-BARRE YOGA/STRETCH- A 90 MIN CLASS WHICH STARTS ON THE FLOOR WITH BREATHING, SPINE STRENGTHENING YOGA POSES, HIP OPENERS AND CORE WORK. WE THEN DO A VERY BASIC TRADITIONAL BALLET-BARRE WHICH HELPS WITH POSTURE, BALANCE AND ALIGNMENT.

 BUTI-YOGA- A  GREATCARDIOVASCULAR AND CHALLENGING CLASS COMBINING POWER YOGA AND TRIBAL DANCE. FUN FOR ALL LEVELS! IT IS A HIGH-INTENSITY WORK-OUT THAT TRANSFORMS THE BODY FROM THE INSIDE OUT. IT WILL OFFER YOU A SOULFUL JOURNEY TO FEMALE EMPOWERMENT THAT WILL MAKE YOU DRIP SWEAT AND LOVE VERY SECOND.

HOT PILATES- A HOT HOUR OF CORE-STRENTGHENING, STRETCHING, HIP OPENERS AND OVER-ALL TONING OF THE BODY.

PILATES MAT CLASS- (SEASONAL CLASS) AN HOUR CLASS OF CORE-STRENGTHENING EXERCISES, STRETCHES, HIP-OPENERS AND OVER-ALL TONING FOR THE BODY.

CHILDREN'S YOGA- A 45-60 MINUTE CLASS FOCUSING ON YOGA BASICS- BREATHING, POSES, MEDITATION AND CALMING BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT- ( NOT ON SCHEDULE AT THIS TIME)

BODY SCULPTING WITH KEVIN MAY- GUEST TEACHER- SEASONAL CLASS -PRE-PAY/PRE-SIGNUP

This class strengthens , sculpts , and stretches the body, using one's own body weight, light hand weights ,and resistance bands /cords. This class is challenging and rewarding.  Modifications are given to fit the individual and prevent injury.

 

The class begins with a rhythmic warmup.The class continues with strengthening and conditioning intervals targeted at every major muscle group in the body. The class ends with a relaxing cool down. You will feel worked out from head to toe.

 

FORM CLASS/WORKSHOP- THIS CLASS WILL FOCUS ON THE FORM, BREATH AND ALIGNMENT OF EACH AND EVERY POSE IN THE ENTIRE HOT YOGA SERIES . WE WILL GO SLOWLY AND WORK ON THE DEATILS OF THE POSES. THE ROOM WILL BE WARM , NOT HOT. ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND. IT WILL HELP TAKE YOUR PRACTICE TO THE NEXT LEVEL BEGINNERS AND ALL LEVELS WILL  BE ABLE TO SLOWLY LEARN THE POSES AND ADVANCED WILL BE ABLE TO WORK ON THEIR TECHNIQUE.( WILL BE PRE-PAY PRE SIGN UP)
